Books By Color

Who knew there is an online store that provided this?

If you're ever in the market to achieve this look.  I always wondered if people actually bought books by color for this very reason...or if they sat down and diligently covered each book with white or brown paper.  Maybe some folks do.

GOOP

Who doesn't like Gwyneth Paltrow?  Really good actress and a great fashion icon.

Gwyneth has a website called GOOP which is basically a lifestyle newsletter that is extraordinarily enjoyable.

Gwyneth says this about her newsletter:

"[GOOP.com is] a collection of experiences [of] what makes life good. My life is good because I am not passive about it. I want to nourish what is real, and I want to do it without wasting time. I love to travel, to cook, to eat, to take care of my body and mind, to work hard. I love being a mother who has to overcome my bad qualities to be a good mother. I love being in spaces that are clean and nice."

"Make your life good. Invest in what’s real," Paltrow writes. "Cook a meal for someone you love. Pause before reacting. Clean out your space. Read something beautiful. Treat yourself to something. Go to a city you’ve never been to. Learn something new. Don’t be lazy. Workout and stick with it. GOOP. Make it great."

Love it.

I came across GOOP while reading a blog which featured interior designer, Annette Joseph.

Anette was hired to create a temporary living space for Gwyneth while she was in Nashville filming 'Country Strong'.  She had 10 days to do the job and I'd have to say, she conquered the project.

GOOP also has nice posts about fashion.  One newsletter is dedicated to cozy shoes for winter.

One pair that is featured is from the classic L.L. Bean.

Love this boot!  It may be overkill for Louisiana but my friend Connie has this in the shoe and can probably testify that they last a really, really, really long time.

Proenza Schouler and Lanvin Tennis Shoes

Besides catching up and reminiscing on old times, one reason why I like to get together with friends is FASHION!

Seeing what each other is into now-a-days. Clothes, perfumes, hairstyles, it all makes for great inspiration and can help breathe new life into your existing wardrobe.

This past November when I saw some old friends, Kit, my sister's "nearest and dearest" told us about a pair of Lanvin tennis that captivated her when she saw them on "That-Bitch-Olivia" aka Olivia Palermo.

I had not thought about tennis shoes as a wardrobe "must" in years.

Not since my days of Air Max's, Tretorn and the like had I lusted after a tennis shoe.  Funny how your life goes from one extreme to the other.  But nowadays, if I'm wearing a pair of tennis it's usually because I'm moving furniture or walking in the Crescent City Classic.

Adding also the age factor...I'd convinced myself that I may be too old to do a cute tennis look.  Outside of my Adidas "Stan Smith's" (which is a must), I figured there were no "grown women" tennis.

Kit and Michelle Obama, proved me wrong.  Yes, I said "MICHELLE OBAMA".

GO MICHELLE!  Wearing them to a fundraiser, no less.  Making sure to piss everybody off.  Gotta love it.

Very, Very cute!  (that bitch!)

Purchasing these are not for the faint of heart.  They'll run you well over $500 bucks...but I found these baby's (and a few others) on sale on Kirna Zabete

PROENZA SCHOULER

Don't you just love they way those two words roll off your lips.

I think the PS1 wallet would make a lovely Christmas gift to yourself.  At $165 it's not way, way expensive...and it's a little piece of eye candy for other folks to salivate over everytime your pull it out your purse...even if your purse does not bear the same namesake.  But if you want to go balls to the wall....the this is the purse you must have.  Isn't it BE-A-UTIFUL?!!!!

I did some digging about the wallet b/c I wasn't sure how big, how long, etc...  So I tortured myself by going to Purseblog (where everyone post their new purchases) and someone took the time to post pics of the wallet and their gorgeous PS1Medium shoulder bag.

And just because, I can't get enough of seeing items in action....
