Body Pillows!

My seamstress guru who I found on ETSY (Jamie of 1200 Stitches)  has completed my body pillow covers.  I love them!  I bought the fabric from P Tree Textiles.  And the pillows ($9.00) are from Target.  Cannot wait to us them.  They are my new sofa cushions.

I received this inspiration from Lauren at her blog Pure Style Home .  She did a custom body pillow cushion cover for her bed.

Well, what will be my new cushion covers...after I send them off to my ETSY seamstress/magician. I am too thrilled.

Troy has some chairs which are nice enough to keep but the covers need updating, so off to the fabric store I went and found this lovley shade of grey.

Did I ever mention that the foundational color palette for our house is Grey, White and Brown?  So thrilled.

My goal is to achieve this look/feel...

Brass Is Back? Cool.

So, as I've been checking in on the design blogs and reading my House Beautiful magazine(thx, Connie), I've been noticing a trend....or should I say a comeback?

Brass.

Being a child that grew up in the 80's...I am very familiar with this finish.  Anyone my age, definitely remembers their parent's brass bed, the brass dining room chandelier and the doorknobs and everything else!

So the 80's style brass was definitely what's stuck in mind when I kept reading that "brass is back".  "Oh Lord", I thought...Until I saw these beautiful pics

How fabulous!  These rooms are warm and timeless.  Soemthing about the brass gives...I don't know, a grown up feeling that's not trendy at all.  It's kind of old school and old world rolled up in one. I really like it.  And the hint of gold beautifully compliments so many wonderful colors.  I'm kind of excited.



So after seeing these pics, I basically changed my mind on the oil rubbed cubin pulls I ordered.  I can always send them back. I bit the $29 bullet on Amazon and ordered 10 of these babies below.  Can't wait.

So WDYT?

Next on my list?  A master bedroom chandelier.

You Can't Always Get What You Want.....

NOT!!!!

This saying does not apply to my girls!

We may not get what we want this week or even this year...but it's on our list and our radar and we'll get around to it as soon as possible.

So when one of my girl's emailed with her new fabulous addition to her bag collection, we all swooned and ooh'd and ahh'd.

She began by sending a pic and asking if we liked.  Well, to be honest although I had heard of Celine before, I was not familiar with their handbags....so of course, I had to Google my ass off.....and thus the beginning of a love affair began.

Oh and her story is just the best. 

Nothing like finally bringing home a bag that you've been thinking about and longing for.

"So, the bag I just sent...I went crazy when I got it.  It's the Celine Shopper/Luggage Tote.  I decided I had to have this bag instead of the RL one we saw here in ATL, but after some research, realized that this was going to be one of those bags that you can't get your hands on (although, not as ridiculous as the Birkin).  In both DC and ATL, stores either don't carry Celine or they received one of each color and already sold out (including Jeffrey's at Phipps).  Anyway, we were up in NYC for New Year's and one of the to do lists was find this damn bag...sold out everywhere, so got on wait list at Bergdorfs...THEN, we went to Barneys.  We separated for a few minutes so I could check the women's shoes, and he could do his thing.  Low and behold, this man had pre-purchased this bag a week before (the very LAST one that someone had called in for and put on hold, but didn't come pick it up in the 2 hour time limit), and had the salesman "presented" it to ME:):):)  As you can imagine, I was going crazy in the middle of Barneys...could not believe it.  Anyway, Santa was good this year.  And yes it is in the closet only to be used on weekends or the occasional weeknight ...you would have thought I had a baby wrapped up next to me on my flight last night...I didn't want nobody squishing or handling it:-) "

Books By Color

Who knew there is an online store that provided this?

If you're ever in the market to achieve this look.  I always wondered if people actually bought books by color for this very reason...or if they sat down and diligently covered each book with white or brown paper.  Maybe some folks do.

GOOP

Who doesn't like Gwyneth Paltrow?  Really good actress and a great fashion icon.

Gwyneth has a website called GOOP which is basically a lifestyle newsletter that is extraordinarily enjoyable.

Gwyneth says this about her newsletter:

I came across GOOP while reading a blog which featured interior designer, Annette Joseph.

Anette was hired to create a temporary living space for Gwyneth while she was in Nashville filming 'Country Strong'.  She had 10 days to do the job and I'd have to say, she conquered the project.

Love this boot!  It may be overkill for Louisiana but my friend Connie has this in the shoe and can probably testify that they last a really, really, really long time.
